[Geoserver-devel] Bug Stomp 18 Nov

Wanted to highlight this proposal from the meeting yesterday:

Bug Stomp Schedule

1st - propose Nov 18th this month (to avoid holidays)?

2nd - can we provide a set day each month to make scheduling easier?

  • The 18th it tough as it is our monthly release day on the release schedule …

  • Has Friday been working well? Easy to clean up the mess over the weekend

  • But Fridays conflicts with holidays in Nov/Dec.

  • Boundless staff considering joining on Thursday (to avoid meetings)

  • Monday is terrible … recommend Thursday/Friday.

I will the proposed date of 18 Nov work for everyone? I understand that we may wish to release GeoServer 2.9.3 a day early to avoid overlap (or a day later to collect more fixes).

Yep, works for us too. Best to have the release a bit before, otherwise
we are going to add last minute fixes that have a nasty tendency of
introducing
last minute bugs.

So about this one, it could be something like "third thursday/friday of the
month" or "first thu/fri past the 18th", or something like that, but not
fixed date, otherwise we're not going to hit the desired week days.
About thu/fri, what about Boundless starts Thursday, Geosolutions follows
up Friday, everybody else picks the day they prefer?
After all our working hours have so little overlap that we're not really
working on it together anyways (before you can actually
start processing issues in earnest, we're all gone home)

Cheers
