Well, I have to admit, maybe my english si porr, but I am missing some things in this email .
Ah that is because it was my notes - I will try and do a better job with an email later today.
As far as I understood, with people from Rome you meant people from FAO, given that, could you drop me a few more lines about this?
Yes, I will email the group in a bit.
I can tell you that a Catalog is something we have to deliver before the end of this year as well as a final release for the WCS (now we are at release 0.2, there is a lot of work to do both on performances and new features), and maybe next year we will attack the WFS Gazetteer service. What we aim at implementing is a complete se of services implementing most important OGC specs and we definitely want to keep working on GeoServer.
You would of loved the EOGEO talk, apparently lack of Catalog is hold a lot of people up. What you should take a away from this conversation is that:
a) you will not be alone working on catalog
b) other developers will work on it as well
c) several of us now have a clue about what needs doing (provided by Josh)
Besides this, Me and Alessio live in Italy therefore this is a reason more why we are interested in this thing about FAO
Doh - I should of thought of that. We will have to get you guys in contact then.
