Hi All
I think I have already asked this question about support for Curved Geometries in GeoServer and I am aware that it is no currently suported. But our requirement definitely requires CURVEDPOLYGONS to be shown. Is there any way this feature can be supported in teh near future. Any approximate timeframe for this.
Or in the other hand is there any workaround by which I can draw CURVEDPOLYGON. I am using OpenLayers with GeoServer. So is there any way b which I can use OL to draw the Curves even though GeoServer doesn’t support it.
Thanks
ganesh

As far as I know there are no plans for curved geometries. There are rumors that the 2.0 version of JTS (which is what we use for geometries) may have some kind of curves. But that version is not planned/funded.
Are you using Oracle? I guess they have support for curved polygons. But we'd need JTS to be able to output it properly.
As for using OL to draw curves, I don't really know, you might ask on their list if it's possible at all.

Note, that there is geometry code on geotools trunk that has full
support for curves. Its not JTS however, although at some point there
was some sort of jts wrapper.
Anyways, if one really wanted to do this on trunk they probably could
but it would be a bit of work. One thing I have been wanting to do is to
implement some additional gml3 geometry bindings against the iso
geometry model. But as Chris sends, no funding or project mandating the
work.
