could you add a jira for this? You should just have to press the

Aside: WFS get capabilities displays in the browser with a click, the
WMS capabilities comes back as something that must be saved and viewed
in an editor?
Could we use "text/xml" MIME type for both?
no - the spec explicitly says the MIME type for both of these requests.

I think WMS 1.3 finally fixed this, so if/when we implement that we can do it right... But until then we're a bit stuck with the specs. I suppose the one thing we could do is like add an 'output format' or even 'mime type' input value to the getcaps requrest...
