[Geoserver-devel] GSIP-126 - Runtime ProcessParameterIO creation

Hi all,
here is a proposal for the 2.8.x series:

The proposal implementation will be quite simple and non invasive, so we’ll want to propose
a backport to the 2.7.x series once the dust settles around the 2.7.0 release.

In fact, I was not sure whether to write a proposal at all, but Jody recently observed that he’d
like to see proposals for new extension points, no matter how small/peripheral they are,
so here it is :slight_smile:

It is okay Andrea, it was just a question about proposal for new extension points (since I have not been in day to day geoserver for a while). If we can handle it via email that is fine :slight_smile:

As for the proposal I like it, any chance of this interface living in GeoTools level? Not that I will ever get WPS client funding…

Alternate suggestion is to split this up into a read interface and a write interface (with the same method names) - and then use those as marker interfaces.

I don't see it happening without funding... unless someone decides to crush
a good number of weekends on it.

Though about it, but it would break solid all existing PPIOs around, I know
there is a number of custom ones out there,
basically anyone that has wrote a process with some new input or output
objects had to write ont

Hi all,
if anybody is interested in reviewing, the work is done and the pull request is here:

https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/pull/936

The changes to WPS are minimal, the old extension/ogr has become extension/ogr/ogr-wfs
and there is a new extension/ogr/ogr-wps that uses the same code as wfs to generate
encode only PPIOs
