Use DavidZ's new GML DataStore for inserts
------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-304
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-304
Project: GeoServer
Type: Wish
Components: WFS, Transactions/Locking
Reporter: Chris Holmes
Assigned to: dblasby
Fix For: 1.4
This depends on GeoServer deciding to use the new XML framework, but this should be one of the first pieces to switch over. We should be able to just use the GML datastore. Though it might be good to write the whole Transaction reading in the framework, since it is one of the pieces that can most benefit from the stack computer processing. This is obviously a non-trivial task, but since GeoServer prides itself on its WFS it should be able to scale up with very large GML files. Right now we sort of fall over if anyone tries to do anything too big. David, if you decide against the XML framework switch you can close this. But at the very least we should optimize a big what we have, as it's pretty damn slow and memory intensive.
