The CropCoverage process sets the data outside of the ROI to the background value or NODATA, but does not retain the ROI. As a result, if the ROI is not rectangular and source image had no NODATA, there is no way to tell which parts of it are valid, and which are outside of the cropped area. The ROI should be retained as an attribute of the output coverage. |
