The ImageIO-EXT project is recently introducing support for Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF, based on new ImageInputStreams and RangeReaders being able to do Byte Ranges requests as part of the Cloud Optimized access paradigm (only reading the bytes needed to render the currently requested tiles) The GeoTools GeoTIFF and ImageMosaic format stores are being updated to support the new incoming capabilities. A new GeoServer COG community module will allow to specify new settings for a GeoTIFF Raster format configuration when that TIFF is a remote COG as well as adding all the additional big dependencies not being part of the standard GeoServer war, needed to support those Byte Ranges requests. |
