[Geoserver-devel] Ldap test server source

Hi Devs,

I'm unable to run the acme-ldap-1.0.jar test ldap server from:

https://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/security/tutorials/ldap/index.html

It seems trivial to fix (see below), but the jar has only class files in it.

On Debian BookWorm,

$ java -version
openjdk version "11.0.14.1" 2022-02-08
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.14.1+1-post-Debian-1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0.14.1+1-post-Debian-1, mixed mode, sharing)

Where does the code live?

Regards and thanks for any pointers

Richard Duivenvoorde

DuckDuck suggests it lives (lived) at https://github.com/bhoefling-c2c/acme-ldap but that no longer exists

You may be able to contact Björn Höfling (https://github.com/bhoefling-c2c) or Camptocamp directly.

It seems to be a slightly customized version of Apache DS which lives at https://directory.apache.org/apacheds/

it probably has problems with the Java version, you could try running with java 7 or 8

Looks like there is a copy buried inside the GeoServer docs too:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/tree/main/doc/en/user/source/security/tutorials/ldap/acme-ldap

Does not build for me though, there are issues in the pom file (I see recent activity related to the
Log4J upgrade).
