[Geoserver-devel] macosx 2.5 dmg fails to start

Thanks for making DMG Justin. Were you able to try it?

The application window starts up for me, selected “Start” from the menu instantly pops open http://locahost:8080/geoserver/web window with a “HTTP ERROR: 404”.

I am going to guess this is a java 1.6 vs 1.7 trouble?

Checking Contents/Info.plist shows:

JVMVersion
1.5*

Changing this to 1.7* will not start, not sure what else to try.

Everything is up on source forge, website page(s) created etc… I can start writing blog post tomorrow. A bit sad that so much is broken … but it is a beta.

Jody, a bit confused by the title, which states 2.5... you're talking about
2.6 here or... what?

Speaking of 2.5.2, the dmg is still missing there:

Cheers

Sorry it is late, intended 2.6

Justin produced the DMG, not sure if he lightly tapped the mac build box, or downloaded the pieces and built locally. I will check back tomorrow and build you a DMG if needed.

As mentioned on the ticket I won’t be able to get to trying to fix this right away. So I am thinking we should probably take down the download if it’s up and we’ll have to wait for the osx installer for the official 2.6 release.
