Hi all,
I’d like to check with the community if it’s time to promote the querylayer module
to extension.
Status:
So… what do you think?
Cheers

+1 here, looks great. Will be nice to have it in extension so more people are aware of it and can do some cool stuff. The docs look great.

What You Don’t Know About Data Connectivity CAN Hurt You
This paper provides an overview of data connectivity, details
its effect on application quality, and explores various alternative

+1.
No doubt it will raise the ante for describing the content of layers
better - both structurally (schema) and the domain and range of each
element.
some interesting movement in OGC to make the capabilities more
modular, which is another necessary precursor to describing data well.

Status:
- the module is basically "done", no more heavy development in sight in
the short term
(though there is the potential to improve it further, no doubt)
-
documentation: http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/community/querylayer/index.html
- according to cobertura code coverage is at 80%
- there is a maintainer (yours truly) and to be honest the module is
really really light
(4 classes total)
- various people expressed interest about the module on the users list and
on
the blog in which we first described its functionality

So... what do you think?
Cheers
