Hi all,
I have taken the docs about the proposed rest api docs dwins put up on the wiki and expanded / clean up them up a bit. I also expanded on them with regard so some of the things discussed on the mailing list recently.
I did them in sphinx since they will eventually end up in the users guide. And the sphinx docs look like our wiki docs so i can easily link to them from the wiki.
Anyways, here they are:
http://gridlock.openplans.org/geoserver/1.7.x/doc/user/extensions/rest/rest-config-api.html
Feedback welcome.

I only had a very cursory look but the API looks ok to me.
It occurred to me that all service configuration is missing, but I guess
it has never been there to start with. I guess something that needs
to be added in the future?
Same goes for the security subsystem, thought I guess we should first
integrate the security config with the rest of the geoserver configuration system as opposed to having it work completely sideways
with its own property file.
Cheers

Yeah, I think a reasonable plan is to start with the catalog, since that is what most users need.

Yeah, might be nice to have that in place first before doing the rest api for it... but I guess its not a blocker.
Cheers
