Hi all,
Andrea brought up last week the question of the usefulness of having a weekly IRC meeting. One thing I would like to salvage from that is the weekly update to the road map. What I propose is we move the discussion of the road map to email, rather than IRC. So what I am proposing is the following:
1. Every week someone sends a road map update email, similar to the one that usually gets sent out now, basically just overviewing anything relevant like up and coming release dates, etc...
2. In response developers can comment on changes that need to be made, including:
* new features that should be added to the road map
* features that need to be removed from the road map due to lack of time or resourcing, etc...
* release dates that do not work for people
* anything other issues
3. After discussion and no objections to the proposed items we update the road map.
Thoughts? Opinions? Feedback?

Agreed, I prefer using the ml better for the roadmap as well.
Cheers

agreed.
it would be good to tag discussions eg [Roadmap] so that it is easier
to pay attention, likewise GSIP stuff is usually well tagged, but you
still need to pay attention quite carefully.

Good idea rob. How about something like #roadmap so people can flag these emails.
