[Geoserver-devel] Some confusion about GWC dependencies on 2.5.x

Hi,
I’m looking at the GWC dependency on 2.5.x, since it’s a snapshot and
I have to decide what to use for the release.

I’ve noticed that the pom was changed back in January to use the snapshot:

d01ef80b (Andrea Aime 2014-01-13 14:32:33 +0100 1517) <gwc.version>1.5-SNAPSHOT</gwc.version>

Yet, 2.5.0 was released against 1.5.1, and 2.5.1 was released with a dependency on 1.5.2.
I can see how that the release script is updating the sources in the tags too.

So… we’d need a 1.5.3 to get the NIO locking fix (an issue which is somewhat hard to reproduce, but
when it happens, causes GWC to deadlock).

Kevin, do you agree? I hear you might be doing a GWC release for master, do you also have time
to make one out of 1.5.x?
Otherwise I’ll try to get some time to do that as well.

Cheers
Andrea

Thanks Kevin:

12-beta is available now (see message on geotools-devel). Let me know when GWC 1.6-beta is ready and I can proceed with the rest of the story.
