I see. Honestly I kind of thought integrating with the WMS would be
enough, as in that you won't need to get to the gwc url if you have it
integrated with the WMS (since the integration point is the interception
of the WebMapService.getMap method the virtual service resolution
already happened).
But I see that you may want virtual services to be there for all the
geoserver provided services. Yet, I doubt it's gonna be easy, though it
may be worth some more thinking.
Thanks for the feedback.

One thing that would be nice is to have gwc integrate nicely with the
virtual service stuff. Which currently it does not.
Basically we would need to be able to access gwc through a workspace
grouping... so something like:
/geoserver/topp/gwc/service/wms
/geoserver/gwc/topp/service/wms
etc... where when accessing via this url one would only have access to
the layers in the topp workspace.
Not sure how hard that is to pull off... just thought i would bring it
up for discussion.

Hi all,
you may have noticed by the bunch of Jira messages preceding
this one.
I'll be working (sporadically, though hopefully done by
2.1-beta2) in
some items towards a richer GWC integration story.
If you have a sec please take the time to read and comment on
any of the
sub-tasks at http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4160 .
All and any feedback will be appreciated.
Best regards,
Gabriel
