Hey all,
I notice that geoserver-trunk's poms are saying they're version 1.5.0beta1. I realize that version was released recently...is this a holdover from that release?
I figure the version should be something like 1.5.0beta2-SNAPSHOT (or even better) 1.5.0-SNAPSHOT (to indicate that we're heading for 1.5.0 and this a SNAPSHOT on the path to that target). Am I way off on that one?
thanks!

Well, since we have a 1.5.x branch all 1.5.x work should happen on that
branch in my understanding, so trunk should really become 1.6.0-SNAPSHOT in my understanding.
Figuring out what to do on trunk is still a matter of discussion, but
for sure everything happening on 1.5.x must be forward ported to trunk.
Cheers
Andrea
Ahh, thanks!
Didn't realize that 1.5.x had branched and was no longer trunk. This was recent...right? Like it happened this weekend?
Also, I agree: trunk should be called 1.6.0-SNAPSHOT.
Thanks Andrea,

It happened during the 1.5.0beta release. Release instructions say
to create a branch for any significant release...

Right... now I don't have time to fix it thought. Besides that, I'd like
to hear other people opinion on this matter before going and
chaning poms.
We had a bit of confusion, 1.5.x was meant to be branched with
the first rc, but at the same time, the release instructions
are not clear about what's a "significant" release.
Cheers

Makes sense to me. I've changed my local copies to make sure I don't run into any version conflicts, but I think that the great summary/planning/future-development work that you're doing will provide good consensus in the next week re: what to call the various version of GS running around.
Thanks for the update!
