firstly - great software guys, I find it really refreshing and exciting that this open source product is so successful. I am having trouble testing out the test geotiff from Google Earth. Is there any chance you could send me the URL of a test request? I don't actually understand which service you link to from Google Earth, is it the WMS (which has to be linked to the WCS datastore) or is it a direct call to the WCS? I realise that the call to the WCS service (from the documentation) returns unrendered data but I can't seem to find out which service returns the KMZ output. I have successfully setup this branch using Tomcat and got correct GE links for the WFS and WMS, the WCS is the one that's eluding me!
Can someone point me in the right direction here please?
I'm trying to find out Geoserver's support for WCS, WMS Raster will also support imagery in a database (e.g. ArcSDE Raster or Oracle's GeoRaster formats).
By imagery I mean multispectral (or hyperspectral) imagery in addition to aerial photography etc.
Brent I can do that if you want - but before we say "yes"....
On the GeoTools site I have often found pages where users have encountered a problem, and help each other fix it. I usually fold this information into the documentation and remove the comments.
For some reason "comment" is easier for people to do then "edit"
My best advice is to subscribe to the RSS feed and act as editor...

I always find the wiki a terrible spot to "chat". I think the comments should be disabled from most pages, except GSIPs. There the comments can be useful. Other places it just leads our users astray.
I hate seeing a page where a user left a comment months beforehand that has been unanswered.

Part of that could be because our 'edit' button is completely obscured as a sub-menu of 'page operations'. If you look at the page trying to find an 'edit' button you simply won't find one.

Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
Get stuff done quickly with pre-integrated technology to make your job easier.

Well, if I can offer a different point of view... I really hated having
to subscribe to mailing lists, since after a while you start receiving
some 500 mails a day (if you play with open source stuff, chances are you need to use bits of various projects). So, first thing I usually
tried was to look for a forum, a place where I could post an ad-hoc question. Yes, I know forums does not really foster user participation,
but I think those users posting on the comments section were looking
for something like a forum.
I then discovered nabble, where you can look at a mailing list as if it
was a forum, and if you want to post, if can just subscribe, disable
mail delivery, and then post thru nabble and be notified when an answer comes. It's a little of a hassle, but works. Maybe we can advertise a bit more this way of "subscribing without really being there"
way of doing things.
