Hi all,
uDig is no longer included in OSGeoLive, and the GeoServer quickstart makes use of uDig to create simple styles.
I will add a note at the begining of the section: “uDig is no longer in OSGeoLive”
But we need an alternative way to create simple styles to be used with GeoServer.
If someone can be so kind to make a PR to OSGeoLive Repository, the file to be modified is: geoserver-quickstart, images that you need would go into GeoServer image directory.

Replace that section with a link for now?
Why not install the QGIS GeoCat bridge, and tell people to use the style viewer in the web menu?
It provides a better experience than QGIS own SLD 1.1 export in my experience.

That might need OSGeoLive to have an install script. We are already on alpha3.
But it might do the trick for OSGeoLive 18.
