[Geoserver-users] A suggesion

Hi dear sir,
I find it is a really trivial and boring thing to config a featuretype
and define a style for every layers(now it is from a postgis
table),especially there are several dozens of layers.Conversely,in ESRI
ArcGIS,there is a kind of *.mxd file,in which we can specify the layers and
config their styles. And then when it is need to published to Web, the only
thing user need to do is to point out the directory of the *.mxd
file, instead of configing a featuretype and defining a style for every
layers. However, what I mean is not represent the Project of Geoserver is not
successful,on the contrary the Geoserver is very good as I love, only need to
improve the user-friendliness. So I have a suggestion which has not yet been
mature that, define a project config-file,which we can specify layers and
edit styles in easy-to-use desktop GIS software(QGIS,UDIG,etc),and this
project config-file can be directly added into Geoserver, because it is a
manual and duplicated thing to do this process in Geoserver.Wish my
suggestion will sparkle the inspiration of the developer of Geoserver. And
Wish Geoserver will be better and better!

                                                       Sincerely yours,
                                                             Yang
