I am a final year MCA student.Im doing my academic project using GeoServer.Im new to this application.what can i do in this using the shape file.Can anyone help me.

Hi Vijith,
Geoserver is not an application. It is a server. It allows you host
spatial data on a server.
Now it is upto you to define the way you want to use it.
If you have a set shape files, you add it on Geoserver and can view it
through HTTP requests.
But decide first what application can be served with the shape file data
you have.
The question to what you can do then with Geoserver will be automatically
answered.
