[Geoserver-users] ECW now working on Windows Server 2008 64 bit System

Hello,

I am able to Run Successfully ECW in x64 environment, below are the steps
that i had followed...

Step 1: Download files (GDAL CRS definitions _REQUIRED_) from URL:
http://java.net/projects/imageio-ext/downloads/directory/Releases/ImageIO-Ext/1.1.x/1.1.2

Step 2: Download files (gdal1.7.3-win32.zip) from URL:
http://java.net/projects/imageio-ext/downloads/directory/Releases/Dependencies/GDAL/NativeLibraries/1.7.3/Windows32

Step 3: Copy all DLL files from folder (gdal1.7.3-win32) and Paste into java
bin folder (Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_07\bin\)

Step 4: Double click on the imageio-ext-installer.jar file available inside
folder (windows32-imageio-ext-installer-gdal-mrsid-ecw-1.1.1) to start the
ImageI/O-Ext project installation. In case this don't work on your machine,
open a command window and go to the location where you have downloaded
imageio-ext-installer.jar. Then run: java -jar imageio-ext-installer.jar

Step 3:
• Set a GDAL_DATA environment variable referring to the folder where these
files will be extracted e.g(Path: C:\Program Files\imageio-ext\gdaldata\)
• Set a GDAL_DRIVER_PATH environment variable referring to the folder where
these files will be extracted e.g(Path: C:\Program
Files\imageio-ext\gdalplugin\)

Step 5: Restart geoserver service and you will find ECW option available
inside add new store menu in geoserver

Dear Vivek,
thanks for sharing this update. I have 1 question and 1 observation:

-Question-
Which version of GeoServer do you actually use?

-Observation-
Do you have valid ECW license? This is _required_ to serve ECW files
via a server like GeoServer
