I would like to integrate geonetwork into my existing install of
GeoServer but was unable to find any docs on how to do this. Do I
just deploy the geonetwork war in my webapps? How do I sync the data?
Any help or pointers would be great.
To my knowledge there is no automatic integration. This is what I did:
Deployed GeoServer and GeoNetwork as separate webapps (.war files).
See http://geonetwork-opensource.org how to setup GeoNetwork.
After both GeoServer and GeoNetwork have been setup you can harvest metadata from GeoServer by configuring standard GeoNetwork OGC WMS/WFS Harvesters through the GeoNetwork admin webpages. For more GeoNetwork assistence consult https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/geonetwork-users
If you need a more integrated "out-of-the-box" solution you may want to check out GeoNode: http://geonode.org which includes both GS and GN.
