I’m having some difficulties to implemente layer-level security in geoserver 2.0 snapshot.
I have 2 different roles: ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR and Test.
If i configure the layers.properties file like the follwoing:
When i try to load any wms into qgis or udig, none of the roles is detecting any layer in the WMS GetCapabilities request.
Am i doing something wrong here or is this a known problem??
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Hugo

Try setting the mode to CHALLENGE instead. MIXED mode causes GeoServer to filter the Capabilities document without giving the client any clue that there might be secured layers, CHALLENGE mode will list them all so that the client at least knows they exist so it can try requesting them.

Thanks very much for your answer. It works with the Challenge mode. However, is there any to only display the available layers for a specific role??? I’ve tried hide mode, but however, using this approach, no layer is displayed in any type of role.
Best regards,
