[Geoserver-users] Layers don't show in GeoWebCache

Hi everybody

I have a Geoserver 1.7.5 running on a server and I want to use GeoWebCache. When I point my browser to http://server-name:8080/geoserver/gwc I get the GeoWebCache startup page. When I press “Dynamic list of layers” link I get a “Reload Configuration” page with none layers. When I press the “Reload Configuration” button I’am asked for credentials. I then give the credentials I use to log in to the geoserver web admin interface. But then I get this message:

“Unknown or malformed request. Please try again, somtimes the form is not properly received. This frequently happens on the first POST after a restart. The POST was to /geoserver/gwc/rest/reload”



If I go back a page and hit “Reload Configuration”  I get this message:

“Configuration reloaded. Read 0 layers from configuration resources.”



I have a local installation of Geoserver 1.7.5 and when I go to GeoWebCache web interface all the layers are showed. I don’t know why the layers are not showed on the server.

Can anybody help me?

Check GeoServer's WMS getcapabilities document. 1.7.x was a bit prone to generating an empty one if the configuration files in the data directory somehow got corrupted.

If that document is fine, then check http://docs.geoserver.org/1.7.x/en/user/geowebcache/setup.html#pointing-geowebcache-to-geoserver-s-wms
