[Geoserver-users] Re: GeoServer offline install ;-)

Hi Jody

Thanks for the report, my comments are inline:

Installing the new PR1 (the guys I am training already managed this), and we ran into a horrible problem when connecting

with a firefox on the same box was okay ...

Was this just a firefox issue? I don't have the facilities to test this problem, would you be able to look into it some more?

Also noticed that the *How to create a new Data Directory does not work when I am offline

We could wrap the installer in a zip file, and include the html page with it.What does the list think about this?

Hope all is going well in South Africa.

No, don't wrap the installer in a zip file, I can't stand it when you
get an installer like that. It should be an exe file that you just
click.

We are including the docs in the download though, so that html file
should already be included. I imagine there may be a way to have the
installer display one of its zipped html pages? If not I'd say either
leave it as is, or just write up a quick page within the installer
scripts on how to make the data_dir.
