[Geoserver-users] Rest question

I’m using 1.7.6, Win2003 server, PostGIS

Perhaps what I’m trying to do is not even possible?

I’ve written a program that:

  1. Creates a new table in PostGIS
  2. Adds it as a new feature type using Rest
  3. Queries with WFS

Then, do it again, but deleting the featuretype first.

The first time it works, but after that 2) fails until I restart GeoServer.

Should this work?

I’d like to know too.

In the past after creating/loading my PostGIS tables I’ve had to overwrite info.xml files in geoserver-data\featureTypes subdirectory.

Then send a login, reload, logout

new URL(basePath+geoserver+“/admin/loginSubmit.do?username=admin&password=geoserver&submit=Submit”

new URL(basePath+geoserver+“/admin/loadFromXML.do”);

new URL(basePath+geoserver+“/admin/logout.do”);

Not always so responsive especially if there are lots of featureTypes.

The Rest approach is more attractive, especially not having to reload everything. Hopefully it’s possible in geoserver2.0?

Thanks

Randy

Hi Roger,

Yeah, it should work ok, my guess is you have just stumbled upon a bug. Any chance you can share with me the code that exercises the problem?

If not, perhaps just the sequence of requests will do.
