[Geoserver-users] Service for 1.5.1 won't start under Vista or XP SP2

I just started this project with a clean installation of 1.5.1. By the way the solution that I posted previoulsy DOES NOT WORK EITHER. The Service still starts and then stops immediately. The logs are attached.

Hmmm. From what I can see:
STATUS | wrapper | 2007/06/08 09:47:55 | Launching a JVM...
FATAL | wrapper | 2007/06/08 09:47:55 | Unable to execute Java command. The system cannot find the file specified. (0x2)
FATAL | wrapper | 2007/06/08 09:47:55 | "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -Djetty.home=../.. -Xms3m -Xmx64m -Djava.library.path="lib" -classpath "lib/wrapper.jar;../start.jar" -Dwrapper.key="FWrjVCSXXsir_0Me" -Dwrapper.port=32000 -Dwrapper.use_system_time="TRUE" -Dwrapper.version="3.1.2" -Dwrapper.native_library="wrapper" -Dwrapper.service="TRUE" -Dwrapper.cpu.timeout="10" -Dwrapper.jvmid=1 org.tanukisoftware.wrapper.WrapperSimpleApp org.mortbay.start.Main

it's not finding the JAVA_HOME system variable. It's either not set,
or not available when the system starts... not sure what to do
about it thought.

Cheers
Andrea

Well I have the JAVA_HOME env var set as a User var not a System var. I might try setting it as a Sytem var. I’ll try that and let you know the result.
