I have a question concering SLD in Geoserver: although I am a big fan of SLD (well I should, I am the editor of its 1.1 version... ) but the manual definion of complex SLDs is very time-consuming and prone to errors. Are there any plans for a graphical SLD-editor for Geoserver or to include some import facilities for common formats (like AVL)? What I am aware of is that Albrecht Weiser develops (in his spare time) a software to convert ArcMap-styles to SLD, there is a AVL2SLD converter in the deegree project and I found this (http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/SLD+Editor) about geoext.
Can anyone give me an update or perspective what (and if) geoserver plans to do about this subject in the future?
If you deploy it along with GeoServer, you can graphically edit
layer's default SLDs. No importers though.
I don't know if it's planned to release it as a GeoServer extension
for tighter integration.

Hi,
If you want to try styler, there's a demo here:
