You can download a pre-compiled release, or checkout the SVN version
(which is what I use):
https://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/branches/wcs-branch
Maybe someone on the list will know what this error means, I am afraid
I don't know a soultion for this particular error right away.
Let me know if you need any other pointers with regards to the WCS release.

Hi,
as Alexander suggested, you need to use the coverage branch you can find here
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOS/Experimental
I would suggest you to keep an eye on the Experimental web page since
a new version of the above mentioned branch will be released very soon
(we are targeting half of March as a deadline) with several
improvements.
