[Geoserver-users] Umlaut in WFS filter

Hi list,

I have a WFS client that works well with Geoserver when request parameters do not contain umlauts. As soon as there’s an umlaut Geoserver fails to parse the filter. Below is what’s in Geoserver’s log. It seems the request parameter arrives at Geoserver correctly, but somehow geotools cannot parse it. Could someone give me a hint? I’ve searched and found a similar thread but it remains unresolved. I’m using version 2.3.5. Is this already fixed in the latest release?

You should really try it out yourself, I'd be surprised if any developer
knew the response off the top of their head, 2.3 is too old
to remember what happened in the meantime.
But maybe some user that got bitten by it in the past might...
