[Geoserver-users] Update workspace properties

Hi,

Following up on my question on updating layer keywords, I would like to know if it is possible to use the REST API to update existing workspaces with new values for title, abstract and keywords.

Accoridng to the API documentation https://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/api/#/latest/en/api/1.0.0/workspaces.yaml the only modification possible to a workspace it to change the name, using the /workspace/{workspaceName} end point.

I was wondering if more workspace properties can be set/changed this way.

I did try the following body:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Trefwoord1

Trefwoord2

Trefwoord3

But despite getting a 200 http response I dont see the new keywords on the geoserver instance.

Any help would be appreciatted.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Hi,
there is indeed no such a thing as keywords on a workspace.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to add some?

Cheers

You would need to modify the layers endpoint (e.g. http://localhost:8080/geoserver/rest/workspaces/tiger/datastores/nyc/featuretypes/giant_polygon.xml) to modify keywords.

Hi,

Ha yes you are correct, what I mean are the keywords that belong to a service (for example teh WMS service) that belong to a specific workspace (dont know if workspace is the correct term, since the enviroment I am using is in Dutch and the term used is Omgeving)

For example the workspace/omgeving ApiTest can have specific workspace keywords, title and abstract as shown below and this is what I would like toe dit via the API.

The reason for editing the workspace/omgeving is to have a coherent capabilities document that describe the services and underlaying layer properly and eventualy to import the capabilitites document to a catalogus (Geonetwork)

Regards,

Itay
