Has anyone ever used the Opensource “Geoportal” Metadata catalog service from ESRI in connection with Geoserver datasources on ubuntu 10.04, and if yes, is it to be recommended?

I had a quick look at it, but there was no support for the target platform (IBM Java).
I would recommend

Some reasons why
- Many installations
- You get help from the user mailing list
- INSPIRE ready, AFAIK, in the future there will be a special INSPIRE installation package
- I know from two enterprises here in Austria participating in the INSPIRE project, it simple works after correct configuration.
