Salve.
accessibili dagli stessi paesi.
Su queste discriminazioni ovviamente non sono d'accordo, e nel caso di OSGeo credo
che una parolina dovremmo dirla.
Saluti.

Hi there,
No. You'll see the Mentor Organization agreement [1] (also used as the Mentor
agreement) is quite clear that you cannot be a resident of Iran.

Hi GSoC admins.
I thought I'd post this question to the mentors list, on the off chance
the answer was ever useful to someone else.
As a US based 501c3 NPO, The Honeynet Project has a potential project
idea were code was initially developed by Iranian and German members.
The project to extend their existing work would be mentored by a German
national in GSoC 2013, but the original Iranian developers would also
like to provide technical support and unofficial backup mentoring
support to an accepted student (as an Org we try to have multiple backup
mentors for each project we select, in additional to the required
official primary mentor).
For GSoC 2013, Google are clear in the FAQs that:
Iranian students cannot participate in GSoC
Iranian based organizations cannot participate in GSoC
however, for mentors, the FAQs only say that Org representatives and
mentors need to be 18+ years old this year:
Can you please confirm that there is no nationality based limit for:
1) Mentors (based on the unpaid individual's own nationality, not the Org)
2) Unofficial secondary mentors internal to an Org
Will should be able to offer this particularly project this year, since
we should have a German primary mentor, but thought I should clarify the
situation on unpaid Iranian mentor involvement before student
applications open, just in case.
Thanks,
David
