today I released 'spatialite-gis', a really simple
and elementary GIS tool built directly on the top
of SpatiaLite.

'spatialite-gis' is very alike to 'spatialite-gui';
both are intended to cooperate in a smooth way.
- spatialite-gui allows you to access the DB in
a classic SQL-based fashion
- spatialite-gis supports a more 'visual' and
interactive approach
'spatialite-gis' fully supports RasterLite's
Raster Data Sources: you can get two useful
sample-DB at:
