This tool has been tested on Linux and Mac so far. Comments are welcome.
very useful tool! I am very sure that I will use it when teaching
remote sensing course at the CTU this semester
Thanks, Martin
PS: Any plans for backport to GRASS 6.5?
I would like to backport it soon, of course. Is there a chance someone
could test it on Windows first? (adding dev list)

great work!
I've tested it here a little bit by using the nc-sample dataset and the
latest available osgeo4w-wingrass7.
the rasters are elevation and ortho_2001_t792_1m; the extent of these
rasters aren't identical. zoom in works, zoom out seems to be fragile.
from the wiki:
Possible enhancements:
add simplified layer manager for each window so that you can add any maps
(raster/vector) - would it be >useful?
adding any map (raster/vector) would be a very usefull enhancement.

I have added a NC sample dataset based Landsat example to
http://grass.osgeo.org/wiki/WxGUI_Map_Swipe
One observation: if you hand-write a (not-existing) map name name,
no error pops but and that "side" of the map swipe remains empty.

nice example, little correction done.

maybe another usefull enhancement?
little insert/legend which layers are shown left/right-top/down, helpfull in
showing differences in time for a greater audience

Thanks for testing. Zoom out should work the same way as in Map
Display. Could it be caused by the different extent? Also the question
is when you are comparing two maps with different extent should there
be some warning? Because it could confuse the user. On the other hand,
different extent of maps in Map Swipe is completely valid if you are
aware of it. For me it works ok.

Anna
