[GRASS-dev] Scripts still using "-q" instead of "--q"

I noticed that the d.histogram tool in gis.m now gives an error because it
uses the -q flag when it calls d.histogram. A few of my own scripts need to
be updated to the quiet/verbose changes in parser as well.

Maybe everyone could keep an eye out for GUI tools that call programs using
the old -q or -v flags?

~ Eric.

I found 2 others and want to make sure I need to change them. They are in
v.transform and r.univar.

Do both need to be changed from -q to --q?

I can change them tomorrow if they do.

Sorry, I missed the most important part of this discussion.
What's the problem with the fprintf() functions and
what should they be replaced with?

sometimes, fprintf is used on places, where G_message or G_warning
should be used, so the user can controll level of verbosity of grass
modules globaly.

for printing results of some calculation, fprintf(stdout,) should be used

Hi,

2006/10/4, Jachym Cepicky <jachym.cepicky@centrum.cz>:

for printing results of some calculation, fprintf(stdout,) should be used

nothing new, but anyway it would be nice (?) to replace fprintf
(stdout, ...) function in the source code by a function based on
G_message/G_fatal_error/G_warning ...

hi,
i see no reason for this,

but it's name could be "G_output" and it should *not* put "\n" to the
end of line
