You can get the binary release of GRASS4.1 on
ftp moon.cecer.army.mil :/grass/grass4.1/release/binary/sun4/sol*

I would use the sol* binaries under ../release/binary/sun4/ only if
you are running Solaris 2.2 or 2.3. If you are running Solaris 2.4,
then you should either use the Grass binaries g.5* under the above
directory, or compile Grass source code, s5.* found under ../release/source.

The g.5* binaries were compiled under SunOS4.1.3 but have proven to
work well under Solaris2.4 as this new operating system supports fifos
and many other things. The sole exception is that Xgen and XGrass stuff
need the C precompiler, cpp, to be in /usr/lib but Solaris2.4 puts it in
/usr/lib/css. So a simple link solves this problem.
