Dear GRASS community,
Thank you for the nomination, and thanks to Anna for her kind words. I have been part of the GRASS development team since 2017, a PSC member since 2021, and PSC chair since then. I come from the biological sciences and am not primarily a developer, so I see my role as bringing the applied user perspective into PSC decisions (and, as Anna kindly noted, giving hugs! 
).
As chair, I helped sustain regular PSC meetings and, together with other colleagues, worked on organizing community events and formalizing governance and protocols. I also helped prepare budgets together with the treasurer, contributed to testing and review, and did teaching, mentoring, training materials, documentation, and outreach, including keeping the project’s news and social media active for a long time.
My availability for GRASS has been limited in the last two years, so I prefer to commit only to what I can sustain. If elected, I will:
- Help keep PSC meetings, minutes, and communication regular and timely.
- Produce and update training material and do outreach, especially for users in applied fields such as remote sensing and public health.
- Apply for funding in projects aligned with my research, where GRASS development and maintenance can be part of the work.
