Is it possible to predefine a map Display windows size when launching? If yes, where is it defined?

partly, start wxGUI, define desired size/position of windows (Map
Display and Layer Manager), go to

Settings -> Preferences -> General

Make sure that "Save current window layout as default" is enabled and
click on "Save".
