[GRASS-user] r.stream.slope

Hi all,

Justing wondering has anyone used r.stream.slope module?

If so, what is it actually calculating?

Thanks to all who has helped me throughout the year! I’ve only recently started using Grass gis and find it absolutely brilliant!

It calculates for each individual stream reach the difference in elevation, the average slope, and as a bonus you can get the minimum and maximum curvature (change in slope). Cheers

The input has to be the flow direction raster that is created by r.watershed.

From the manpage (as Helmut suggested):

*direction*
Flow direction: name of input direction map produced by *r.watershed* or *r.stream.extract*. If r.stream.extract output map is used, it only has non-NULL values in places where streams occur. NULL (nodata) cells are ignored, zero and negative values are valid direction data if they vary from -8 to 8 (CCW from East in steps of 45 degrees). Direction map shall be of type CELL values. Region resolution and map resolution must be the same.
