Hi Kurt
I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the Navicat
versions of PostGRESQL and MYSQL with GRASS (or qgis). Navicat
provides a gui front end for PostgreSQL and MYSQL. I was hoping one
of these might be easier to use than the opensource text versions.
Does anyone know of any opensource versions that have a gui interface,
or has anyone had any success at linking Filemaker data bases to GRASS
or qgis.
I haven't used Navicat, but if you have access to a Windows computer
that can connect to the linux machine (assuming postgresql and grass
are running on linux), you can also check out EMS PostgrSQL Manager
Lite...
I prefer it to any of OSS linux graphical interfaces I have used so
far (pgAccess, Torah and knoda). I even run a virtual machine with
windows XP installed just for using this interface to my PostgreSQL
database. Unfortunately it isn't opensource, but it is free (as in
beer).

I have found pgAdmin III to be quite good for managing postgresql.
