The GRASS wiki site is a perfect place for this development.
(can it serve PDF, presentation attachments?)
no, currently it doesn't support uploads, documents (pdf, images, ...)
have to be stored somewhere else.
create a quasi-liberal access area in gforce GRASS svn? or better,
create a new project on gforge for "open_gis_edu" or similar.

Thats a great idea.
Can we use this place to put video tutorials online?
I just created a very simple gui feature demo with grass63
to encourage all users and dev's to create video tutorials.

It would be great to have many thematic video tutorials
to explain the basics and advanced features of grass.
Best regards

This approach (video tutorials / demos) looks very useful to me. I started from scratch with Grass a couple of weeks ago and this short video showed me in 5 minutes what it took me about 2 days to figure out from manuals, how-tos etc. Many thanks and hopefully others will contribute similar clips. What tools do you use to make the recording?

Hi,
Soeren used this tool
http://www.unixuser.org/~euske/vnc2swf/
to record a flash movie.
Never used it myself sofar.
You would need a VNC-Server installed (not too tricky normaly).

The installation is easy if you have a Linux dist which provides all
needed python packages (pyGames and others i dont remember).
You would need a VNC-Server installed (not too tricky normaly).
The installation of vnc is easy. There are a lot of free vncserver and clients out there in the internet.
To record a vnc session is not very complicated:
First you have to run a vnc server and the client.
The next step is to start vnc2swf.py with the address of the vncserver and a file name.
A short vnc2swf usage tutorial is available here:

Best regards
Soeren
