Hi,
to help 'grass@baylor.edu' with the management of requests I have set up
another mailing list:
weblist@grass.itc.it
http://grass.itc.it/mailman/listinfo/weblist
It manages requests which are not sent to one of the GRASS mailing lists
(eg information requests etc).
The address 'weblist@grass.itc.it' points to an open list which does not
require subscription. The address 'grass@baylor.edu' is of course
subscribed so that effectively nothing should change for you (except
a potential reduction in workload). Only problem is spam which we may
block similar to the RT bugreport list. Of course 100% spam protection
is impossible.
When now people click on the "send your GRASS related email" it is
sent to 'weblist@grass.itc.it' first which distributes the message
to 'grass@baylor.edu' and other subscribers like some developers.
As discussed this will give more insights into the user needs and
should also reduce workload for 'grass@baylor.edu' maintainers
(because the other subscribers may also answer requests, you are welcome
to join).
So 'weblist@grass.itc.it' is the subscription-free channel to contact
GRASS people.
Best regards
Markus Neteler
