This is probably the set of changes I made to correct the segmentation fault
encountered when reading wide info tables, to use less memory and to add an
option to import only a subset of the items included in an info table. The
bugs fixed were not deemed release critical, so the changes were not
committed to the release branch. The changes in info.c were fairly
extensive.
