[GRASS5] Release GRASS5.0stable_pre1 ?

Hi all,

as time is passing by and some RC bugs are still on the list:
Shall we release a GRASS 5.0stable_pre1 candidate? Many bugs
have been fixed (especially severe library bugs) - some "testing"
by the GRASS community might be helpful.

Perhaps we could relese it next week, if you agree.
If the forthcoming (?) bugzilla/jitterbug will be working
by then, the bugs found in pre1 would be reported into the
new bug tracking system.

Just my 0.02 Euro,

please let me know your thoughts,

Markus

Yes, I think another release is due (despite the outstanding bugs).
It's been several months since the last release and many bugs have been
fixed. Still a few significant issues remaining...

Hi Markus, Hi all,

i vote for a interim release too. But i would recommend to wait until
the bugtracking system is set up properly, so that we get useful
feedback.

Would be bad IMHO if users provide feedback and report bugs, but we have
no setup to collect the feedback.

cu,

Andreas

I also opt for an interim release,
but as it is not really a release candicate,
we should call it beta!

I think we should go for the release anyway.
If it is released it is released, we have a bug mailinglist and this ready,
so there are means to get feedback.

Some things should go into, so a few days are left for release this new
version.
