Subject: site sampling
Hello all.
I'm working on some trend surface analysis (with R), and my sites file has too
amny sites, so I start thinking about perform a stratified random sampling on
them, but I couldn't find any command to do it.
Any ideas?
thanks

Hi Carlos,
I have written a module for GRASS 5 that you can use
to produce an n% sample of a GRASS site file.
It will select sites from the current working region
and (optionally) only from non-NULL areas of an
underlying raster file. It is called s.random.sample.
I can mail you the source code, if you like,
but you'll have to compile it yourself for
the version of GRASS you are using.
Cheers, Benjamin

Hi Carlos,
please find attached to this message my
simple site sampling module for GRASS 5.
There are some short installation notes
in INSTALL.txt.
Hope you will find this usefull.
I am also posting this to the GRASS mailing
list, in case anyone else needs this
sort of functionality.
Cheers,
Benjamin.
