[GRASSLIST:6223] compilation error

Dear GRASS User
I'm tring to compile a stable grass6 version on my laptop using the below

configure command:

./configure --with-opengl-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/ --without-odbc
--without-fftw --with-postgres-includes=/usr/include/pgsql/
--with-gdal=/usr/local/bin/gdal-config --with-freetype
--with-freetype-includes=/usr/include/freetype2

and I haven't any error (this below is the output)

The errors are in each modules and if I run make install (under root) I have

this....
[root@localhost grass-6.0.0]# make install
echo /home/pierluigi/grass_source/grass-6.0.0/bin.i686-pc-linux-gnu/grass60
/home/pierluigi/grass_source/grass-6.0.0/bin.i686-pc-linux-gnu/grass60
ERROR: GRASS has not been compiled. Try "make" first.
  Installation aborted, exiting Make.

Can you help me??
Maybe the problem is inside my machine because the error is in each modules

but I don't know what is...

thaks in Advance
Pierluigi

Hi,

Just a notice - do not compile GRASS in paralel. For me GRASS always
fails to build if I build it with "make -j 2". Lots of software can be
compiled with -j x option to speed up compilation, but GRASS will fail
to build in such way.

And second thing - go to some directory containing module that failed
to build and run make there. You will see some err output. First look
in last compilation command for any strange include paths etc. If You
cant see anything usefull, send this err output to list and not
general message.

And, yes, please provide information about Your distribution and GCC version.

WBR,
Maris.

hmm. Fails here too (including "these modules missing description.html",
which is incorrect). Worked fine last time I tried, maybe that was 5.4
though?

If it is a quirky race condition thing and not bad module code, running
make a second time should compile the things that didn't work the first
time (skipping things that did build ok). For me the second round
compiled everything but nviz, try 3 got that.

shrug.

debian/testing using gcc 3.3.5
older dual intel
