[GRASSLIST:8575] GRASS 6.1 and NVIZ

I have both GRASS 6.0 and 6.1 on my system. NVIZ works fine in 6.0, but all I get is blackness displayed on 6.1 when the nviz control panel appears. Any suggestions of where to start in figuring this out?

--> I removed old Mesa libraries
--> I installed version : 6.3.2-1.mdk10.2
libMesaGL1-6.3.2-1.mdk10.2.mde
libMesaGLU1-6.3.2-1.mdk10.2.mde
libMesaGLU1-devel-6.3.2-1.mdk10.2.mde

and now everything is working fine

I'm using x.org on Ubuntu. The libraries are version 6.8 and I have the transitional packages installed as well, so I don't think that is the problem.

I tried the latest build and it just dies when I add a DEM. In fact d.m won't display any raster layers either. Hmmm..

This is NOT the GRASS 6.1 & NVIZ thread, though it may be related

I have compiled GRASS 6.0.1 on A64, under SuSE 9.3 A64.

I have extracted spearfish60.

The data seem to work fine under GRASS, but nviz segfaults.

NVIZ opens fine with no data, or with a flat surface instead of a DEM. I
can open a vector layer (such as roads) and draw this on the flat surface.

Any attempt to open the spearfish elevation.dem (or other raster) in nviz
causes nviz to crash with no error.

Running nviz from the command line instead of the gui, I get a seg fault
message in the terminal window.

Any suggestions?

I have an NX server running on this system, so if anyone wants to logon &
try things for themselves, it is easily done.

Thanks
