Hi OSGeo mentors and developers,
My name is Heet Joshi, and I’m a Computer and Information Sciences student at UW–Madison. I’m preparing a GSoC 2026 application and I’m currently most interested in istSOS as my primary OSGeo project.
My background is mainly in backend and web development with Python, JavaScript, SQL, and API-oriented projects. I’m especially interested in projects where I can improve a real system while learning the codebase deeply and contributing in a maintainable way.
I wanted to introduce myself publicly before drafting the full proposal. I’d really appreciate guidance on the best current issue, bug, or small coding task to start with for istSOS so I can get familiar with the codebase and contribute before finalizing my proposal.
