I am interested in contributing to the “Add JSON output or fix known code defects” project for Google Summer of Code 2026.
Over the past few months, I have been actively contributing to the GRASS GIS codebase and becoming familiar with its development workflow. Recently, I implemented JSON output support for the r.coin module, which involved understanding the module structure, output formatting conventions, and integration with the existing testing framework. Alongside this work, I have also contributed fixes and improvements to several reported issues, which helped me gain deeper familiarity with the architecture and coding practices used across GRASS modules.
I am currently preparing a detailed proposal that outlines the modules and issues I plan to work on, along with a development timeline and strategy. Once I have a draft ready, I would appreciate guidance on the best place to share it for early feedback from mentors.
